Description

This 5-day course includes FortiGate, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer components in a 5-day hands-on integrated format.  These instructor led courses are ideally suited for busy security practitioners and network administrators that want relevant and practical instruction to optimize the security and functionality of their network environment.  Students are provided with a Fortinet appliance to use, and will work on their own laptops during these courses.

Course Curriculum

Introduction to FortiGate:  Students will gain understanding of the general functionality and configuration of the Fortinet Firewall. Focus will be on day to day configuration of the Fortinet UTM including firewall, VPN, secure gateway, IPS, antivirus, and application control.

VPN with FortiGate:  Students will focus on implementing client-to-site and site-to-site VPNs. Students will configure various types of IPSec VPNs including the use of the FortiClient software and explore diagnostic and troubleshooting methodology.

IPS and Malware Botnet Prevention:  Students will focus on the Security features of the FortiGate security appliance. Intended for the security professional who wishes to achieve maximum benefits from their Fortinet appliance to protect workstations and servers from being attacked and to detect and prevent botnet deployment inside the enterprise, all within the constraints of performance and production requirements.

Securing Your Internet Gateway:  Students will focus on using the Fortinet Unified Threat Management features to provide maximum control over Internet traffic. This course is intended for the professional that is already familiar with basic operations on the Fortinet Firewall and wishes to improve their configuration, utilization, and tuning of advanced security features to minimize risks associated with internet access and enforce organizational internet access policies.
